VISION
SA'OAXACA is dedicated to increasing representation within the performing arts by providing excellent educational opportunities to underserved Mexican string instrumentalists and increase the study and promotion of Latin American and Hispanic chamber music compositions. We hope to create a bridge between young professionals from world-renowned music schools and pre-professional music students in Mexico. SA'OAXACA provides excellent pedagogical opportunities to young professionals by bringing classical music to underserved Mexican communities. Although Oaxaca is overflowing with astounding artistic talent and cultural richness, string education is scarce due to the lack of educational and economic opportunities. SA'OAXACA is an invaluable experience for all of its participants due to its commitment toward the artistic growth of the dedicated, disciplined and passionate students who have long desired a high quality musical experience such as this. SA'OAXACA is also dedicated to the study and promotion of chamber music works by Latin American and Hispanic composers. This festival was founded in 2019 by the Amatista Quartet (Ann Arbor - MI) along with the Facultad de Bellas Artes - UABJO (Oaxaca) and the Fonoteca Juan León Mariscal - Centro Cultural San Pablo with the participation of internationally renowned guest artists. Festival participants have multiple performance opportunities and receive private lessons as well as chamber music coachings and masterclasses by our esteemed faculty and guests artists.
